Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards: ANNIHILAGEDDON 3

Created by Cryptozoic Entertainment

MOMS are losing their shit and insist you “DON'T EVEN LOOK AT IT!” YES! Epic Spell Wars: ANNIHILAGEDDON is back with #3: SATANIC PANIC!

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Hail Satan! It’s Day 3!
over 1 year ago – Thu, Jan 19, 2023 at 06:09:20 PM

So far, so good, and thank you for all the comments in the uhh… comments section. I always really enjoy chatting with other people that love these games. And remember: We are chatting a bit in the forums at www.epicspellwars.com too… feel free to join! Let’s get into today’s stretch goals!

First up, you unlocked that cool guest artist’s Champion Wizard, the Pitcher Bitcher, and Heavy Flo! Congrats?!? So gross… (I love it.)

Today’s first new stretch goal is the retro Familiar Lil’ Gulp and Roofie… these fun bottle boys come courtesy of Malice in Weird Land. And like all the denizens of weird land, they love mayhem, so buckle up. If you take the chance, it could be awesome or SUPER AWESOME… plus the Defense is incredible (free card, yes please). For the second card we have Badonka Dragon. I thought this turned out great. If you look at Dragonia (the Champion card that comes with ESW 6), it seems like she has a tail to go with that headdress. But as you can see, it's ACTUALLY her Familiar holding on to her juicy rump roast! Hahahaha. I also love the way Dragonia is all drippy… RS BIXBY, you awesome pervert. Badonka is a pretty spicy card. Grabbing ANY Attack card in the line-up is insane and being able to defend and get it back quickly is also insane. Plus I thought my “bottom” and gameplay mash-up joke was pretty badonka-dynamite.

As you can see, the next stretch goal is another free set of Champion Wizard baggies. You may have some left from the last Kickstarter, but as replacements or for the new people, I thought it was important to run them back.

SOCIAL MEDIA STRETCH GOAL AND ANNIHILAGEDDON 1 PLAYMAT

So there has been a lot of talk about access to some of the older promo stuff for those that missed the opportunity. And in general, I like to preserve the collectible nature of the things we make, but in this case, there really isn’t a secondary market and I want all the newcomers to feel like they can get the stuff they want. So, we are doing a “SOCIAL MEDIA STRETCH GOAL”!! I know, it’s like we’re trying to MARKET this game... crazy!! Here are the goals and where to click:

  •  Facebook: 300 people tag a friend in the comments of this post

  •  Instagram: 300 people tag a friend in the comments of this post

  •  Twitter: 300 retweets of this tweet

If we hit ANY of these numbers, we will unlock an add-on! And what is it?

Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards: ANNIHILAGEDDON 2 Kickstarter Promo Pack!

These are still “technically” Kickstarter exclusive (this is a Kickstarter). That’s right: All the extra Champion Wizards and Familiars can be yours! For 20 bucks!

AND since we are adding stuff on, let's throw the ESW: ANNIHILAGEDDON 1 Playmat up there as an add-on NOW, so you can catch a break on shipping.

Which leads me to another topic: Sadly, it’s not possible for us to add all the other products onto the Kickstarter due to the way the logistics work. It’s just not feasible for us to ship from the US to all the hubs our partners will use to get you these Kickstarter items. So anything we offer has to be “printed fresh” and sadly the volumes wouldn’t be high enough to do the old stuff.

BUT all that said, I am working on another add-on item that I think you will dig… and has to do with the old games.

Thanks again for reading this, and I love you with all my Satanic heart!

Killing Those Stretch Goals!
over 1 year ago – Wed, Jan 18, 2023 at 03:40:54 PM

ALRIGHT! We are killing those stretch goals, and sorry for the delay posting them. We will be getting them up quicker in the future (this is probably a lie). I will say that the end of each day will feature one of these updates, assuming we have unlocked stretch goals, to explain what they are and give you a better look at the cards or whatever it is. These will be in addition to the bigger Friday updates that go over some features of the game.

So first up, you unlocked a retro Familiar: Lumpkin of the Lamp, servant of Zanzabart the Slag Genie (you may remember him from ESW 1). Look at that power! The zany idea being that if you can rub that lamp (get enough power), you get a wish… DESTROY 8 CARDS IN YOUR DECK! That is super powerful, and certainly what I would wish for… after a giant penis, or invisibility, or an invisible penis… whatever, let’s move on. The second Familiar is Primeval Ignat, the unknowably weird Familiar of Tiranicus Tentilcus! That’s a pretty dynamite power… really leans into the “catch-up mechanic” inherit in the wild magic design. A brief note on the Champion Wizards in ESW 6: Anarchy at the Arena: They are all CHAMPIONS and super over-the-top powerful… that’s the “theme” 😊

WOW, you unlocked some really fun AND exclusive Satan deck cards. I love the Promo Cards, because we can be a bit more whacky with them. Cheater Cheater: This design actually came to me when we were testing. Someone talked about cheating and the comment was made like “DUH, I AM SATAN!” and I was like, oh shit, we gotta make a card that encourages Satan to try cheating! Clearly not easy to pull off, but hey +5 VP is pretty bitchin’. And the second card is just total flavor for the Satan player, getting to bully one of the Wizards into saying it will be hilarious and fun (at least for all the other players). And not for nothing, but there is so much table negotiating that this card could actually be meaningful in terms of negotiating, and again SUPER fucking fun.

Mmmmm, what’s this? Well! we have some very cool foil stamping on the back of the Satan deck cards… this will be so sexy, trust me. I really like when we can add these little touches of polish that are hard to justify in terms of expense.

The next guest artist is BeastWreck! Super talented and SUPER funny, this guy is the best. He sent like TWENTY concepts for the Champion Wizard! HOLY SHIT, they were all funny, I’m sort of pissed I can’t use them all! Be sure to check out his site: https://beastwreck.storenvy.com  I recommend picking some stuff up. I have a few of his shirts, and they are super high quality.

So, let’s look at Pitcher Bitch and Heavy Flo. I love that if you already blocked an Attack this turn, you’re vulnerable to getting walloped by 10 points of damage. Look at that art… so great!

Ok, thanks again for reading this update and supporting the Kickstarter!

I love you very much,

Cory

Funded… and Welcome to Hell!
over 1 year ago – Tue, Jan 17, 2023 at 03:29:12 PM

We did it! We funded in like 666 seconds, give or take a few seconds…

I hope you enjoyed the video. Clearly I use it as more of an opportunity to have fun than actually sell you the game. Shit, plenty of room for that in the body of the campaign… this is VIDEO time!

STRETCH GOAL UNLOCKING!!

First up: the Foil box. Listen, I know it’s not the sexiest stretch goal, but trust me when you bust this bad boy out on game night and your friends are like “OH SHIT, look at it shine… is that the fucking KICKSTARTER edition?!?” and you’re like, “YES, SON IT IZZ” and they’re like “OH DAMN, SON! BALLER”… you’re going to be happy.

and…

HEY, we unlocked our first “guest artist” Champion Wizard and Familiar stretch goal… amazing!!! So, for those of you who love board games, the Mico is very well-known. One of the most prolific board game artists out there, this super Macedonian illustrator is also involved with kids books, comic books, and animation. The GUY is incredibly talented. Be sure to check out his Facebook group and give him a follow:

https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063470116950

I invited the guest artists to come up with the Wizard and Familiar if they liked, or I could supply it. The Mico did his own! Introducing Myle the Jerk and JEFF!

Check out that Familiar… VERY powerful. With all the conditional cards and abilities in the game, you’re bound to have some big turns when JEFF is around, and heck it, in a pinch he can defend you!

So it seems the Kickstarter is off to a great start. It’s the period in the campaign that gives you the warm fuzzies: “Look, people like the shit I made!” These are the ups that make the middle part tolerable: “Why aren’t more people liking the shit I made?” hahaha… we have been on this ride before.

So a few things I wanted to mention. The pricing. So to be clear, and I probably should have used it as a graphic in the campaign, but the retail cost of ESW: A3 will likely be $50-55 dollars when it comes out in retail… the raw amount of stuff in the box is f-ing cray cray. Also, on the fan club, you may have noticed we increased the price. Sadly, my partners insisted that we make it AT LEAST break even. Now that we know the actual costs, that’s reflected in that price. (I did sneakily add discounts at the higher tiers so really depending on how you look at it, it’s still AT A LOSS! Hahahaha.)

The current plan is each Friday of the campaign I will do a big juicy update with graphics that go over some of the cool stuff in the games. Seriously, the stuff up to now only covers part of it. There is so much to see. It would have been overload. I mean, you don’t even know what Spell Books are yet!

Also, I will be in the comments section chatting it up and answering questions as we go. We have like 25 awesome stretch goals lined and some cool updates, including one from Lead Designer Ben Stoll.

So, thank you again, and I love you very much,

Cory
